Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel, has reopened to much fanfare, but what makes this experience truly unique is the innovative sonic journey crafted by WithFeeling. As a key partner, we are proud to have designed the Ain Dubai Sonic Logo and the auditory elements that enhance every moment of the experience, ensuring visitors are immersed in a multi-sensory journey above Dubai’s skyline.

For Ain Dubai, we worked directly with Ain Dubai and Dubai Holding Entertainment to create a sonic identity that carries visitors from the first step in the Plaza to the final rise above the skyline. A bespoke sonic logo, ambient soundscapes, terminal-film scores, and a bespoke 38-minute cabin journey were all crafted to build anticipation, heighten emotion, and turn the world’s largest observation wheel into a story you can feel as much as see.

It’s been inspiring to watch the wider experience come alive through partners across the project, including ACCIONA Cultura whose visual world adds even more depth to the journey. When sound, space, and storytelling move together, something special happens — memory is made.

Elevating the Ain Dubai Experience Through Sound

At WithFeeling, we understand the power of sound to evoke emotion, tell stories, and create memorable experiences. For Ain Dubai, our team worked across multiple components to deliver a seamless auditory experience that resonates with the grandeur of the world’s largest observation wheel.

1. The Plaza

At the heart of Ain Dubai lies the Plaza, a vibrant entertainment space beneath the wheel. We curated 24-hour playlists that reflect Dubai’s multicultural identity, blending Western, Arabian, South Asian, and Russian influences. This carefully designed sonic landscape ensures that visitors feel welcomed and engaged even before their journey begins.

2. The Terminal Building

The journey starts at the Terminal Building, where we scored two visually stunning films:

  • “Sands of Time”: This animated film showcases Dubai’s transformation and the creation of Ain Dubai through the eyes of a falcon. The dramatic score underscores the film’s narrative, adding a layer of emotional depth and excitement.
  • “Ain Skies”: This film provides an insider’s look at the engineering marvel that is Ain Dubai. Our composition enhances the storytelling, celebrating the innovation and ambition behind this global icon.

3. The Cabin Journey

Once aboard, visitors embark on a 38-minute rotation, accompanied by a bespoke soundtrack divided into 13 sections. Each segment aligns with specific landmarks visible from the cabins, such as:

  • Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR): Featuring a vibrant, upbeat score to complement the lively promenade below.
  • Palm Jumeirah: A majestic composition that mirrors the elegance and grandeur of this engineering marvel.
  • Highest Point: At 250 metres above ground, the music crescendos to highlight the awe-inspiring views of Dubai’s skyline.

Our approach ensures the music evolves with the visuals, creating a cohesive and immersive experience that keeps visitors engaged throughout the journey.

4. The Ain Dubai Sonic Logo

We also developed the Ain Dubai Sonic Logo—a distinctive auditory signature that encapsulates the brand’s identity. This logo plays a key role across touchpoints, leaving a lasting impression on visitors and reinforcing Ain Dubai’s iconic status. The sonic logo serves as an auditory anchor, ensuring that the brand’s presence is felt even beyond the physical experience.

Crafting a Dreamlike Musical Journey

One of the most pivotal aspects of Ain Dubai’s sonic experience is the bespoke music we composed for the journey itself. Our vision was to evoke a sense of wonder and awe, as if visitors were soaring like a falcon above the clouds. The music had to feel dreamlike and floaty, seamlessly integrating with the visual spectacle while maintaining a subtle catchiness that lingers in memory without becoming repetitive.

To achieve this, we designed the score using a combination of lush pads and ethereal vocal textures, creating a soundscape that feels expansive and airy. This delicate balance ensured the music could take a gentle backstage role, allowing the views and the experience to take centre stage.

Building to the WOW Moment

As visitors ascend to the highest point of Ain Dubai—250 metres above ground—the music shifts gears, reflecting the grandeur of the moment. This is the pinnacle of the journey, the “wow” moment where the awe-inspiring skyline of Dubai comes into full view. Here, the composition crescendos with greater intensity, announcing this achievement with a sense of celebration and triumph.

This dynamic approach ensures that the music evolves with the visitor’s experience. From the gentle and floaty introduction to the bold and uplifting crescendo, every note is designed to mirror the emotional arc of the journey, amplifying the wonder and magic of the ride.
