His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, recently inaugurated Riyadh Oases FoodSphere, unveiling the first of eight planned urban oases. This milestone, launched on February 26, 2025, advances sustainability and food innovation in the Kingdom’s capital.
A visionary collaboration between Riyadh Municipality and Riyadh Holding, this project reimagines urban spaces. For instance, it seamlessly integrates education, sustainability, and cultural heritage into a unique visitor experience.
Situated on Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Street (Tahlia), this venue offers a multi-sensory journey. Consequently, visitors can explore the intricate connections between food, nature, and cutting-edge advancements.
Why Riyadh Oases FoodSphere Stands Out
Spanning 11,000 square meters, this destination features three distinct zones. Each zone—The Apiary, The Oasis, and The Biosphere—highlights food ecosystems, biodiversity, and Saudi culinary heritage, creating a rich tapestry of discovery at Riyadh Oases FoodSphere.
The Apiary: Honey & Bees
A holographic beekeeper greets visitors, explaining pollination and sustainable practices. Plus, the Hive Mind experience immerses you in a bee’s world through a 360-degree sensory display. Afterward, guests can sample local Saudi honey, connecting them to the Kingdom’s beekeeping traditions.
The Oasis: Coffee & Dates
Step into a sensory cloud infused with the aroma of Saudi coffee and dates. Next, the Jazan Coffee Capsule showcases mountain-grown coffee traditions, while the Date Gallery explores diverse varieties. Together, these elements embody the warmth of Saudi hospitality.
The Biosphere: Future Food
This zone delves into sustainable methods like vertical farming and nanoclay technology. Visitors stroll through the Butterfly Garden, a living symbol of biodiversity. Additionally, climate-smart innovations underscore a commitment to food security.
Sonic Identity by WithFeeling
WithFeeling played a pivotal role in shaping the sonic identity of Riyadh Oases FoodSphere. Our team composed over four hours of original music. We blended traditional Saudi motifs with contemporary sounds to craft an emotive soundscape. Each thematic zone has its own bespoke ambient compositions. The Apiary buzzes with nature-inspired tones. The Oasis hums with warm hospitality vibes. The Biosphere evolves with environmental layers that reflect sustainability themes.
We also developed interactive hologram voiceovers, bringing authenticity to exhibits like the Beekeeper Guide and Coffee Farmer. Our sound design for the Biosphere uses shifting compositions that deepen the story of food security. Beyond the zones, WithFeeling crafted the official FoodSphere theme: a signature piece that aligns with the cultural and innovative ethos of Vision 2030. We also produced and mixed the soundtracks for the documentary and digital installations, so the auditory journey feels seamless.

FoodSphere isn’t just an attraction; it is a sensory exploration of food’s role in nature, culture, and innovation. Our work supports its framework of Connection, Culture, and Change. The three zones cover 1,413 square meters on the ground floor, plus a first-floor viewing platform. We enriched the visitor walkthrough with audio that enhances each step, from the Entrance Portal to the Butterfly Garden.
Welcome & Reception
The journey begins at the Entrance Tunnel, where our 60-second looped soundscape accompanies LED screens displaying Saudi ecosystems. A voiceover introduces FoodSphere’s mission, delivered via recessed directional speakers. At the reception, ambient audio complements the Solar Core lighting installation, creating a dynamic welcome hub.
The Apiary: A Sonic Hive
In the 211-square-meter Apiary, our ambient soundscape evolves over the 40-minute experience. For instance, the Holographic Beekeeper’s welcome features a 90-second narrative we scripted and recorded, paired with infographic animations. The Hive Mind infinity room pulses with a layered composition—hexagonal patterns come alive through LED-integrated audio. Meanwhile, the Sensorium’s scent stations and live hive hum with subtle, nature-inspired tones.

Across the 289-square-meter Oasis, we crafted a warm, nature-infused playlist for the hospitality areas. The Cloud of Welcome fills with a two-minute piece of prose and poetry, triggered by guest interaction. The Palm of Wonder’s tree activates every 15 minutes with multi-channel soundbites from hanging speakers. A soft, regional melody underscores the Jazan Archive’s photographic display.
The Biosphere: Echoes of Tomorrow
Spanning 703.5 square meters, the Biosphere’s 90-minute journey is enriched with an evolving soundscape. Seven digital monoliths trigger voiceovers we produced, introducing topics like nanoclay and vertical farming. The Cloud Arcade’s mist-filled walkway hums with ethereal tones, while the Butterfly Garden’s living ecosystem features gentle, biodiverse sound layers. Upstairs, the Net Lounge offers a relaxing composition with key messages, enhancing the view over this vibrant space.
Technical Precision
Our AV design integrates seamlessly with the project’s infrastructure. We synced audio with LED displays, directional speakers, and dynamic lighting across all zones. We also mixed the FoodSphere documentary soundtrack to keep it consistent with the live experience. Every element reflects our commitment to a cohesive, immersive sonic identity, from the grand opening ceremony to the smallest exhibit.

By embedding sound as a core layer, WithFeeling has made Riyadh Oases FoodSphere an unforgettable destination. Our work deepens visitors’ connections to food, nature, and Saudi heritage.
