BABYSHOP
For BabyShop’s “World Without Walls,” released during Ramadan 2018, we composed the original music for a film that imagines a world with no doors, walls or divisions. The story follows a child who moves freely through it, from his own bedroom to a refugee tent to an orphanage and beyond, every threshold he crosses quietly erasing the line between “us” and “them.” Created with FP7 McCann Dubai and produced by Mitra Films, with original music and composition by WithFeeling.
THE CHALLENGE
The campaign took the spirit of Ramadan, empathy, tolerance, humanity and togetherness, and turned it into a single, unbroken emotional journey: the very values we lose sight of in a world increasingly defined by walls, both physical and emotional. The music had to be the thread that held the whole idea together, a sound for unity that could cross every border.
THE APPROACH
Our score builds from one sentiment: a place with no doors, walls or divisions, where we all share a home. It stays warm and intimate where the story is personal, then opens outward as the child’s world expands, carrying the listener with it. At its centre is a delicate vocal by Brittin Lane that gives the lyric its longing and hope, never sentimental, always reaching. As the film moves from one home to the next, the music dissolves the distance between them, until what is left is not a series of separate worlds but one shared one.
THE RESULT
A piece of music about belonging, written for a campaign about exactly that: a reminder that the things we have in common run deeper than the walls we build. The film launched across YouTube and Facebook and reached more than 1.1 million views, anchoring a wider regional campaign of in-store, on-ground and social activations under the banner #WorldWithoutWalls. Composer: Joe Dickinson. Vocals: Brittin Lane.
