Unilever USA needed an original music composition for Handy Andy, the household cleaning brand, designed to feel rooted in American rock and country traditions. Working with Overcoast, WithFeeling composed a rock-blues, country-rock track that gave the spot character, attitude and a sense of place.
THE CHALLENGE
Write a piece of music for Handy Andy that feels unmistakably American (rock, blues and country-rock instincts in equal measure) without leaning on cliché. The track had to carry attitude and swagger, sit cleanly underneath picture and feel authentic to the brand’s everyday-hero energy.
THE APPROACH
WithFeeling built the Unilever USA original music around electric guitar, slide riffs, driving drums and warm vocal grit. Composed and arranged in collaboration with Overcoast, with rock-blues and country-rock influences layered to land both as background bed and as a track with character of its own.
THE RESULT
An original score with attitude. A rock-blues, country-rock track that gives Unilever USA’s Handy Andy spot a distinctly American voice, gritty, hooky and full of swagger from the first beat to the last.
