WithFeeling created the original music and sound design for Sciamachy, a Les Folies film confronting HIV and the prejudice surrounding it through raw, physical performance.

Sciamachy, a Greek word for fighting a shadow or an unseen enemy, is an artistic film for World AIDS Day that turns the struggle against HIV and prejudice into raw physical performance, fusing martial arts with metaphor. The challenge for a piece this poetic is emotion without melodrama: a score that carries the weight of the fight and the fragile hope beneath it, letting the body and the silence speak.

The music does what the film asks of it: it brings the story to the surface. Beautiful and unsettling in equal measure, it turns a metaphorical fight into something you feel in your chest, the kind of score that lingers long after the screen goes dark.
