Photography captures a moment. Sound lets you feel what happened before and after it. WithFeeling created the original music and sound design for the POWER HIPA Award 2025 opening film, giving movement, depth and emotion to every frame.
The POWER HIPA Award 2025 opening film set the emotional tone for one of the region’s most significant photography awards. Built around the theme of POWER, the film celebrated the instinct, courage and dedication of photographers who spend their lives searching for the perfect shot.
WithFeeling composed the original score, created the complete sound design and delivered a full 7.2 immersive audio mix for the film, wrapping the audience in detail, depth and emotion.
THE CHALLENGE
The opening film needed to do more than introduce the ceremony.
It had to honour the people behind the images: photographers, artists and visual storytellers whose work depends on patience, risk, timing and instinct. The sound needed to support extraordinary photography without overpowering it.
The challenge was to give movement to stillness, weight to silence and emotional depth to every frame.

THE APPROACH
WithFeeling built the score around three emotional anchors: awe, dedication and human connection.
Soft strings, atmospheric synthesis and gentle harmonic progressions created a sense of discovery. Deeper orchestral textures added weight and scale. Warm melodic hooks helped keep the film human, reminding the audience that photography is ultimately about people and their stories.
The sound design was crafted with the same precision. Dust, wind, footsteps, camera shutters, distant echoes and quiet breaths were layered to reveal the world inside each photograph. Every detail was placed carefully, designed to feel real, emotional and never distracting.
THE RESULT
The final film did not simply play in the room. It unfolded around the audience.
The 7.2 mix allowed WithFeeling to place sound with greater precision, giving environmental layers, impact cues and tonal textures a sense of space and scale. It helped transform the opening film into an immersive tribute to the craft of photography.
For WithFeeling, the project shows how sound can deepen visual storytelling. When every frame matters, music and sound design do not just support the picture. They reveal the feeling behind it.
