EXPO 2020 DUBAI: ORIGINAL MUSIC
Expo 2020 Dubai’s countdown projection on the Burj Khalifa was a global moment, broadcasting the start of the journey to the world’s largest expo from the side of the tallest building on Earth. Working with HQ, WithFeeling composed the original orchestral score that carried the projection, designed to feel epic, urgent and full of momentum.
THE CHALLENGE
Score a countdown projection that the world would be watching, on an 828-metre canvas. The music had to feel orchestral, cinematic and unmistakably big, drive the pace of the projection and rise into a moment of celebration without ever losing the precision the visual demanded.
THE APPROACH
WithFeeling built the Expo 2020 Dubai original music around a fast-paced orchestral arrangement, layering strings, brass, timpani and choral lifts to mirror the countdown’s energy. Composed and arranged in close collaboration with HQ, every musical beat locked to the projection so the visuals and the score moved as one.

An orchestral countdown that gave the Burj Khalifa projection its emotional weight and pace. A piece of music designed for the world’s stage, fast, cinematic and unmistakably big, helping Expo 2020 Dubai introduce itself to the planet.
