The Future of The Kingdom is in Safe Hands
It’s not often that national pride, technology, love and compassion and commitment blend so perfectly as they did in a film for which we were asked to create original music and sound design. The occasion was Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day. The film was for the globally revered King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre. It featured the wonderful story of a young swimmer overcoming a health challenge to make her family, and her nation, proud.
To amplify the profoundly moving message we saw captured on film,
we first needed to develop subtle soundscapes to capture the tension of preparation. Then, we created dynamic rhythms with intricate instrumentation to provide a visceral punch to the competitive spirit
of the central character. But this had to be offset by a haunting and poignant melody to underscore the drama of the unfolding story. Ultimately, the need to leave the viewer with an impression of an uplifting, cinematic score was paramount to harness the spirit of Saudi pride and ambition.

The film’s central message was “A heart beating with life, in a homeland pulsing with ambition”.
